What can go wrong? & How do I fix the problem?
Problem #1
If the pH goes to high or low, then the minerals lose their killing effectiveness and you may develop a greenish tint to the water or full blown algae bloom
Answer:
Simply add a non-metallic algaecide, adjust the pH of the water to the correct range, and then shock the pool. You can use a non chlorine shock or you can use a product like we sell called SOS. This shock does have a small amount of chlorine, but if you put it in the pool at night by the next morning it will be gone. SOS will correct the problem quicker.
Problem #2
You have developed Cloudy Water
Answer:
This is usually a result of an inadequate filter system. Not enough flow through the filter, or the wrong size filter. First, clean the filter. If you are using a cartridge filter, take it out and clean it. If your are using a sand filter, use a sand filter cleaner. After properly cleaning the filter, check your pH and Alkalinity and correct if needed. Next add 1 lb. of a non chlorine shock per ten thousand gallons of water to the pool. We recommend our S.O.S. product. The water should be clear within 48 hours. If the problem comes back, do the following each week to help out your filtration process.
Weekly shock your pool with S.O.S. If you are using a sand filter we strongly recommend a product sold here called Reva Klar. Please read more about this amazing filter enhancer at revacil.us (click on ‘products’, click on ‘to clarify’ and click on ‘Revaclear Sand Filter Enhancer’). This product coates your sand with a finer surface material which will trap finer particles that make your water cloudy.
Finally, we recommend using a clarifier on a weekly basis. A clarifier makes particles in the water bond together so they become large enough your filter can remove them. We recommend a clarifier made by Sea Klear. Their clarifier is the best, and it is all natural.
Problem # 3
About 5 % of pools once they are off chlorine will get a clear but greenish tent instead of a blue tent to the water. This is caused by either to much alkalinity or improper ph. It can also be caused by some unknown mineral or metal in the water.
Answer:
First make sure your water is properly balanced. Then shock with our S.O.S. or another non chlorine shock on a weekly basis. 1 lb for every 10,000 gallons of pool water.
